This Menacing Prophecy!

Abruptly

Time slowed

Misinformation
On the news shows

Even so

Our eyes and ears amplified and froze

The media began to overload

Surrounding sounds started to drown out

Fixated

Our worse terrors were brought about

Wordless shock erased doubts

Families shaken
Broken

A nation awoken

Again

From its somber sleep

Profits once more

Took from our Lady Liberty
She weeps

Twenty-six innocent American heart beats

A country again buckled to its knees

Twenty lives were just precious babies!

I don’t know about you

But I can no longer sleep

This ache runs too deep

This dread of something incomplete

Something so unsettling

Will they ever rise up patriotically?

Will their egos ever fully grieve?

For those who died indirectly

Will humanity supersede?
Life before greed

“We the people” must intervene

Our voices of reason will have to intercede

Our courage to concede

Our wisdom to

Stop this fleece

This unleashed profit eating beast

These unspeakable sprees
